earlier today in my software engineering lecture

Dr. Peter Oriogun: "If you take what I say in the lecture as being correct, you will fail the exam."

this sounds like unusually good advice at university level. In software engineering, you should never take someone elses work as being true, until you have tested it yourself. And you will nearly always be working from someone elses notes - assuming you're lucky enough to be coming after someone who actually MADE notes.

you are right, but i don't think he was being clever.

so unfamiliar was he with the lecture material, he had to check the number of powerpoint slides each lecture had so as to work out how long he could afford to spend per slide.
