seems everyone on here's oblivious to the fact that it was not just lyssa who "organised" new year at the rosemary branch.

you're not wrong about your argument ;]

the only way you'll end up with no friends is if you pursue a life of secluded hermitage; shunning the outside world in favour of insular introspection.

i'm certain everyone barring the lucky few feel the same way about socialising in the group... it's hard keep up with all that goes on, it's even harder to do this without finding it demanding and it's nigh on impossible to get along with everyone.

move back, or, don't move back, that's your call, but, be aware that if you're relaxed in yourself around people, you'll get your friendship group and good things will happen regardless of where you happen to reside. this is because you are a good person.

aw thanks, though i'm not totally sure about being a good person- sometimes i want to kill people ;) (targ's nickname for me on hols was SKJen - Surprise Killer jen- i might have shown my violent side although i don't think being pinned down by kieren has helped my broken chest situation :)

you are right of course, and i can be relaxed around people, just not on the first couple of sittings and definitely not on a sunday. i've proved this by having many pals at work (i mean, yesterday one of them drove halfway round the county to fetch a tv for me) but it is only because i've known them a while. they will always be work colleagues though with all the associated politics that brings and it is tricky meeting people outside of work. it is just a shame that the only time i see my pals in london seems to be when trashed. it is my own doing for choosing to live miles away but there is nothing really stopping me from seeing people outside of a clubbing environment if i put effort into reminding people that i am perfectly capable of getting on a train at no notice whatsoever. it is, after all, one of the reasons (apart from cheap houses) i live in doncaster as opposed to anywhere else. all i want is a weekend of just hanging out with a few mates.

i will shut up and stop moaning now and go and eat some biscuits :)

Jen, you rock and I`d love for you to move down:)

I totally hear what you are saying...since I moved to London four years ago, I have taken huge amounts of time out to find my own place and build a life which includes the people I love and consider real friends...I hate small talk and I hate the fakeness that goes with the huge group of people we both know but as dave says you will get that everywhere so it`s up to you have you find your own way..it`s a challenge for sure but worth it:)

I hope we get to hang out and party soon! I`ll be at the next Autonomy - if you can make it, I plan to party this time after it and not crash out:) Hope to see you there:) If not let me know next time you`re in London:)
