i've landed a gig djing tomorrow night. trouble is, it's metal... and i ain't entirely up to date with the scene.

what songs should i acquire between then and now to play?

Or something more mature? I can't even remember what metal I used to listen to but there was loads of it.

Don't worry, just play old school, lots of stoner, a bit of Pantera - the metal crowd in the Dev isn't all that young AFAIR, so the classics always go down well.

I'd say maybe a bit of downtuned/nu metal stuff as a contrast to the more glam/trad stuff that usually gets played, but tbh what people seem to want is familiar stuff while they're boozing.

I'm not much of an expert on it, but try Queens of the Stone Age, Sabbath, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Spiritual Beggars and Orange Goblin.
