GWAR & flash pillow fight
Mar. 17th, 2007 04:15 pmso, gwar were pretty fucl<ing good last night.
not nearly as messy as last time, but still an unbelievable show.
the highpoint for me was crowd surfing like the closet 14yr old i evidently am ;)
went back to
ahura_mazda's place afterwards, but i was too drunk so i sent myself home.
only just managed to haul my ass out of bed in time to skate down for the afternoon's fun. met up with
purplestuart in time to see some football fans from sheffield doing their thing in the wellington... soaking some poor old couple with a pint after some chap had made a comment to the effect of "the steel industry in sheffield's dead. hurrah!"
when we arrived at trafalgar square, things didn't look good... just
cyberkai,
natbombat waiting for us and the obligatory bunch of people protesting against oil (or some other nonsensical cause).
but as 2pm approached more and more alternative types kept crawling out of the woodwork... there was a good 9 or 10 of us gathered waiting for the appointed hour.
then as the clock struck two, all hell broke loose... pillow weilding maniacs appeared as if from nowhere. at the height of the battle, there were a good 30 or so people demonstrating their fighting skills much to the delight of the rapidly growing crowd of onlookers.
feathers and artificial pillow stuffing floated over the battle as the haunting sound of maniacal laughter reverberated around the square. then, almost as quickly as it had begun, it was over and we beat a hasty retreat to a random gay bar on the edge of the square.
i hope someone managed to get some pictures.

Date: 2007-03-18 05:06 pm (UTC)Yeh me too. I wish I'd made it now - sounds like the most fun! To be fair i had the hangover/crack comedown from hell and the very last thing I felt like doing was being beaten about the head with anything.
Besides, I'd promised to help jay move - I didn't do that either :) just watched everyone lugging boxes about. But I did order pizza ;) so i guess that's helping.
