well, not quite, but the alliteration's allure was too tempting ;)

took candice in for her operation this morning, which involved leaving the house at 5am in order to get to osterley in time to take a taxi with her to the hospital.

being told she'd be ready for release at half twelve, i pootled off to twickenham tescos to get her meds... after spending some 50 odd quid on things for invincible towers i left the store and was halfway back when i realised i'd forgotten the prescription!

no problem, i thought, i got time to kill, so off i trot back to tescos intent on making good my promise of procuring her pills only to discover that they didn't have enough drugs in their pharmacy to meet the demand.

"here, take what we've got and we'll call you when the afternoon delivery comes in so you can collect the rest" said the pharmacist. and like the fool i am, i believed her...

but i'm getting ahead of myself.

after the tescos trauma came the travelling to and from the hospital in the mistaken (and on the second occasion misinformed) belief that she'd be ready to be taken home.

i should point out that candice doesn't queue well, and being kept waiting for 5 hours so they could operate on a cancer patient after she'd been deprived of food and drink since the night before only served to aggravate her impatience.

finally, at around 5pm having escorted my livid girlfriend back to hers and still no word from tescos, i set out on her brother's skateboard to chase the bastards up, a mistake i'll not make again: hounslow is about the least skateboard friendly part of greater london i can think of, and that's including hampstead heath!

right, that's enough rambling for now.
