Curiously, I just had a letter today which has a proposed direct debit attached. It has something referred to as the Direct Debit Guarantee. Inter alia, it says that if there are any changes to the amount that you are due to pay then they must notify you ten days in advance. It also says that in the event of an error, you are entitled to an immediate refund.
