(no subject)

found out recently why i only hold tarantino's first four films in any regard...

roger avary, that's why.

in other news, i so hope this is for real and not part of some grindhouse related promotion.

grindhouse flopping kinda put this on ice...

trejo really wants to do it as you'd imagine.

he wants to re-make fuckin' faster pussycat kill kill.

when will he grow up and have a stab at cranking out a quality item rather than amusing fluff...

i fear never. he's seems mentally stuck in hermosa beach, working in that video store, dreaming of rehashing other directors works...

you should come round and watch movies some time.

either way would be hip

Roger Avary's great (although I wouldn't get in a car with him) - did you ever see Killing Zoe?

[identity profile] crazymeandave.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
many times. have a real liking for bank-job films... how'd you like inside man?

[identity profile] mark13.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Haven't watched it yet, I'm afraid - essay deadlines mean everything I watch has been school-related for the last coupla weeks.

Looking forward to watching it next week when I can actually relax and enjoy a film. :)

I love bank job films too - or any of those situations where some sort of major and elaborate scam is planned and executed. Did you ever see Quick Change?

I also loved Christopher Brookmyre's book, The Sacred Art of Stealing, for similar reasons.

don't think i've seen quick change... but it's quite old so chances are i watched it when it first hit "sky"

The name's not very memorable - it stars Bill Murray dressed as a clown, as part of an ingenious bank heist, and I remember it being really good.

yeah. checked it out on imdb... it does sound very familiar.

I read an interview with Trejo where he said it's supposed to happen, but nothing's come about.

I found Planet Terror really poor. Still haven't watch Deathproof yet, but can't imagine it being any better.

[identity profile] crazymeandave.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
deathproof was truly awful... i'd advise doing anything else with the 114mins it'd take to inclict that unmemorably dull film upon yourself.

not watched all of planet terror yet - stopped after 10 mins but it looked like it might be amusing.
