athletic perfection wins in the end

for those of you not in the know, last night saw the conclusion of the world professional darts championship.
the epic final saw to athletes competing against each other for the covetted title of world professional darts champion [and the small matter of the £50,000 prize money]

andy fordham played mervin king [a much slighter man] who's waif like figure probably played a large part in his inability to match andy's ability to throw small darts at a circular board 8 feet away from them.
the world's largest championlittle man

but the story that captivated my imagination and will stay in my memory for hours to come is one of triumph over adversity. a man fighting against oppression and difficult circumstances to emerge, in the end, victorious. champion of the world.
i am a mole and i live in a darts player

i've heard from a fairly reliable source that the reason that fordham took up professional darts in the first place was to help save up for the expensive cosmetic surgery procedure that he has wanted for so long.
and now, the fifty thousand pounds he won on sunday night can finally pay for the removal of his conjoined twin [whom it is rumoured, was responsible for various security breeches in our intelligence services over the last decade]
